Award Amount

Bursaries will be awarded to the successful applicants based on need in light of demonstrable travel and accommodation costs. The bursaries will also cover the conference registration. It is anticipated that up to five (5) bursaries of up to £1000 will be awarded.

Eligibility

These bursaries are open to any individual (subject to the criteria below) whose paper is accepted for the AHRI 2018 conference.

In order to be eligible, you must be a resident and citizen of any country other than one from North America, Europe (excluding Turkey), Australia or New Zealand.

We particularly welcome applications from: Angola, Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Benin, Bhutan, Burkina Faso, Burma, Burundi, Cambodia, Central African Republic, Chad, Comoros, Congo (Dem Rep), Djibouti, El Salvador, Equatorial Guinea, Eritrea, Ethiopia, Gambia, Guatemala, Guinea, Guinea-Bissau, Haiti, Indonesia, Kenya, Kiribati, Korea (Dem Rep), Kyrgyzstan, Lao PDR, Lesotho, Liberia, Madagascar, Malawi, Mali, Mauritania, Mozambique, Myanmar, Nepal, Niger, Occupied Palestinian Territories, Pakistan, Philippines, Rwanda, São Tomé and Principe, Senegal, Sierra Leone, Solomon Islands, Somalia, South Sudan, Sri Lanka, Sudan, Thailand, Tajikistan, Tanzania, Timor-Leste, Togo, Tuvalu, Uganda, Vanuatu, Yemen (Rep), Zambia and Zimbabwe.

Should lack of residency be due to refugee status that condition will be waived if official evidence of refugee status is presented along with the application.

These bursaries are designed to advantage those applicants who would otherwise be unable to take part in the AHRI 2018 conference in Edinburgh, and therefore applicants from disadvantaged backgrounds or demonstrating financial need will be prioritised.

Application

Application can be made at the time of abstract submission. Please include no more than one (1) page detailing the basis of need and anticipated costs. Applicants should specify amount when applying, where amount is less than the maximum, only the amount specified will be covered.
